Job summary

Sheehan Phinney seeks a Manager of Electronic Discovery Services to champion litigation support through technology and best practices. You will oversee document-heavy projects, supervise review teams, and train staff on eDiscovery software and project management.

You will administer the firm’s eDiscovery environment, ensure accuracy of exhibits, and align workflows with budgets while staying current with industry trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5+ years of eDiscovery experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong technical skills including systems analysis and workflow development.
• Experience with internal and external customers and excellent customer service.

Description

The Manager of Electronic Discovery Services is responsible for championing and overseeing the Firm’s litigation support efforts through the use of technology and reports to the Chief Operating Officer. This includes honing established processes and procedures and applying industry trends and technology. Works closely with the litigation practice group, outside law firms and vendors. Manages document intensive litigation projects and supervises document review teams (as needed). Responsible for administering, implementing, and maintaining Sheehan’s litigation software environment and established workflows. Provides training on eDiscovery software use and eDiscovery project management. Confirms the accuracy of exhibits for depositions and trials. Ensures that project, team milestones, and goals are met, incorporates best practices and adheres to approved budgets along with other tasks as assigned. Stays abreast of changes in eDiscovery related technology. The incumbent will work from Sheehan's locations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Reveal administration or other legal/document review software experience
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong verbal, written, project and interpersonal communication skills
• Subject matter expert (SME) of state and federal court rules relating to electronic discovery and strong understanding of litigation practice
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and develop workable solutions quickly
• Strong project management skills
• Serves as eDiscovery SME in court proceedings as required
• Ability to work independently with strong collaboration and leadership skills
• Ability to interact with clients and third parties on a professional level
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adjust and work around obstacles
• Operates with high ethical standards

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of 5+ years of eDiscovery experience and previous supervisory experience preferred. eDiscovery certifications preferred. Strong technical skills including systems analysis techniques and procedure development, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, and functional specifications. Experience working with internal and external customers/clients and excellent customer service skills. EEO
