Job summary

Cracker Barrel in Lebanon, Tennessee is seeking a nutrition-focused expert to own nutrition data governance, labeling, allergen management, and regulatory compliance across core menus and guest-facing resources.

You will lead recipe costing governance, partner with Culinary Innovation, and mentor the Food Cost Analyst to ensure data accuracy and actionable insights for product development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, Culinary Science, or related field.
• 5+ years in nutrition, recipe management, costing, or related functions.
• Restaurant/foodservice experience preferred.
• RD/RDN certification required

Responsibilities

• Serve as nutrition subject matter expert for analysis, labeling, allergens, and regulatory compliance.
• Own and maintain nutrition data and related systems for menus, tests, and guest resources.
• Own recipe data governance to ensure accuracy and validation across development and commercialization.
• Partner with Culinary Innovation to translate recipes into approved product data.
• Lead recipe costing governance and oversee Food Cost Analyst for costing data.
• Coach and develop the Food Cost Analyst with clear priorities and standards.
• Monitor nutrition trends and regulatory developments; advise on implications.
• Identify improvements to data systems, workflows, and reporting.

What You'll Do - You'll Make The Moment

• Serve as Cracker Barrel’s nutrition subject matter expert, responsible for nutrition analysis, labeling, allergen management, ingredient statements, and regulatory compliance.
• Own and maintain nutrition data and related systems, ensuring accurate and timely information for core menus, tests, promotions, digital channels, and guest-facing nutrition and allergen resources.
• Own recipe data governance, establishing standards and controls to ensure recipe, nutrition, allergen, and costing data is accurate, consistent, and validated throughout product development and commercialization.
• Partner with Culinary Innovation and cross-functional teams to ensure recipes and supporting data are accurately translated from development into approved product data and downstream business systems.
• Lead recipe costing governance and oversee the Food Cost Analyst responsible for day‑to‑day recipe costing and food cost analysis, ensuring reliable information to support product development and business decisions.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Food Cost Analyst, establishing clear priorities, standards, processes, and expectations.
• Monitor nutrition trends, consumer needs, and regulatory developments and provide recommendations regarding potential implications and opportunities for the business.
• Identify and lead improvements to recipe, nutrition, and costing systems, processes, reporting, and workflows to increase accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, Culinary Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in nutrition, recipe management, product costing, foodservice systems, or related functions.
• Restaurant or foodservice industry experience preferred.
• Experience managing cross‑functional projects and business processes preferred.
• Prior people leadership experience preferred.
• Certification: Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) required
