Job summary

Spectrum Retirement Communities is seeking a Manager, Memory Care, with LPN or RN credentials, to lead the Resident Care team in a full-time role. This position reports to the Resident Care department and offers a schedule aligned with a rotating Manager-On-Duty duty.

Responsibilities include recruiting and training staff, delivering nursing care, performing health assessments, coordinating care plans, and managing the admissions process for residents with dementia.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• 1-2 years of management experience in dementia care preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or Gerontology preferred.

• Recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and staffing of team members.
• Provide nursing care to residents, including health assessments and resident care plans; discuss changes with physicians; implement interventions to reduce falls; administer medications as needed.
• Coordinate resident admission processes including screening, assessment and care planning.
• May fill in on weekends as Manager-On-Duty.

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, plus participation in a Manager on Duty rotation approximately every 6 weeks (Saturday and Sunday).
In this position, your main responsibilities will include:

• Recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and staffing of team members.
• Provide nursing care to residents, including but not limited to: Completion of health assessments and resident care plans, discussing changes in resident condition with physicians, introduce interventions to reduce falls based on individual resident needs, etc. Also provide medication administration and help with resident care, as needed
• In conjunction with the community’s multidisciplinary team, coordinate the resident admission process including screening, assessment and care planning.

This position may occasionally fill in on the weekend as a Manager-On-Duty.

To be successful in this position, we believe that you need the following experiences, strengths, and skills:

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse required.
• Candidates may be considered with caregiver certifications beneficial to the community plus management experience.
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or Gerontology preferred.
Minimum 1-2 years of management experience in directing/providing dementia care for seniors preferred.
• A strong background in patient care assessment, assessing resident behavioral symptoms and developing non-pharmacologic approaches to meeting resident needs.
• Has experience in community or long-term care settings.
• Must meet all state requirements.
