Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager in New Jersey to oversee domestic transportation and international shipping operations. You will coordinate import/export activities, work with carriers and internal partners, and monitor service levels and costs to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Leadership experience with small teams preferred
  • Working knowledge of transportation operations, carrier management, and logistics processes
  • Familiarity with TMS, WMS, freight payment systems, and Excel
  • Basic understanding of trade compliance requirements and documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and identify efficiency improvements
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams, carriers, and external partners
  • Coaching and performance feedback to team members

Responsibilities

  • Support domestic transportation and international logistics processes

Job description

Support the implementation and day-to-day execution of domestic transportation and international logistics processes

Partner with internal stakeholders on planning and forecasting activities
Assist in managing carrier and third-party logistics provider relationships

Support sourcing events and provide input into carrier evaluations
Contribute to logistics improvement initiatives, network optimization, and process standardization
Ensure consistent use of transportation systems and improve efficiency, cost control, and service levels
Provide day-to-day direction and support to logistics team members
Monitor inbound and outbound shipment activities for timely execution and policy adherence
Support team development through coaching, training, and performance feedback

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations
  • Experience coordinating domestic and/or international shipments, including exposure to import/export processes and regulatory requirements
  • Prior experience supervising or leading small teams preferred
  • Working knowledge of transportation operations, carrier management, and logistics processes
  • Familiarity with TMS, WMS, freight payment systems, and Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel
  • Basic understanding of trade compliance requirements and documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and identify efficiency improvements
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, carriers, and external partners
  • Ability to provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and support to team members
  • Ability to identify issues, gather relevant information, and implement practical solutions

  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States
