Job summary

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is seeking a Food Safety Manager to lead and oversee the park's Food & Beverage locations, ensuring strict HACCP and FDA-compliant food safety practices across all outlets.

You will train staff, conduct inspections, manage corrective actions, and collaborate with leadership to maintain safety standards and accurate reporting. The role requires certification and the ability to proctor alcohol training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
• Must have or be able to obtain ServSafe Food Safety Manager Certification.
• Must complete and proctor RAMP Certification Training (alcohol).

Responsibilities

• Assist and oversee all park Food & Beverage locations with FDA/HACCP compliance.
• Conduct ServSafe training and ensure food handling standards.
• Create and manage HACCP operations at all food service locations.
• Perform internal food safety inspections and audits.
• Investigate food safety incidents and report findings to leadership.
• Manage corrective actions to ensure compliance.
• Maintain food safety data and records.

What you get to do:

We’re looking for an inspirational, solutions-driven individual with advanced knowledge of food safety and HAACP standards. We’ll rely on you to ensure health and safety protocols are adhered to and oversee inspections and audits. This position requires an individual who is capable of motivating, educating, training and inspiring Ambassadors. You will:

• Assist and manage all park Food & Beverage locations in the compliance and execution of our Food Safety policies and system in accordance with FDA, HACCP, and all other appropriate regulatory guidelines
• Conduct training and proctor ServSafe Food Manager Certification and ensure proper food handling training is being completed for all F&B Ambassadors and leaders
• Create and manage HACCP operations at all food service locations
• Conduct and oversee internal food safety inspections and audits
• Conduct and manage investigations regarding food related illness complaints and Ambassador safety; provide detailed reporting to senior leadership
• Submit and manage corrective actions to locations not meeting food safety/HACCP standards and work with facility leadership to ensure compliance
• Manage recordkeeping and data tracking of food safety and safety data
• Serve as liaison for regulatory inspections and maintain inspection results
• Work in tandem with F&B leadership on recipe standardization and activities related to nutrition and allergen programs
• Collaborate with the procurement team to resolve food safety issues relating to food and beverage products
• Daily oversight and development of team while maintaining high levels of cleanliness and a safe environment for ambassadors and guests
• Collaborate and establish relationships with other departments to ensure business needs are being met
• Maintain expense budgets as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

What it takes to succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
• A valid driver’s license
• Must have or be able to obtain National Restaurant Association Education Foundation ServSafe Food Safety Manager’s Certification
• Must be able to complete and proctor RAMP Certification Training (alcohol)
• Excellent knowledge of food handling techniques and be comfortable and able to work with all food types, including food allergens in any dining facility
• A passion for customer service
• Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to perform varied duties
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

What else is important:

• Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed
• Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors and cold/heat temperature extremes
• Perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals
• Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays
