Job summary

Exyte is seeking an EHS Manager to lead and advise on safety and environmental health programs for construction projects in the Boston area. You will develop policies, train staff, and coordinate with project leadership to uphold an incident-free workplace culture.

Responsibilities include risk assessments, audits, client prequalifications, and KPI reporting while ensuring compliance with regulations and company standards. Strong communication and organizational skills required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental science, engineering or an applied science field.
• 10–15+ years of experience in EHS Construction Management.
• 5+ years of experience in project scope i.e., ATF, DTC, BLS.
• Professional Certifications: CSP, CIH, CHMM, PE, CHST, STSC.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain EHS policies and procedures ensuring compliance with laws and Company requirements.
• Advise project leadership and field personnel on EHS matters.
• Identify safety training requirements for Regional employees.
• Implement Company Best Practices and new safety programs.
• Develop project safety plans and risk assessments.
• Audit workplaces to gauge compliance with EHS policies and procedures.
• Prepare safety prequalification documents and client presentations.
• Report on project KPIs and manage EHS document control.

The EHS Manager works with and advises project leadership and field personnel ensuring implementation of the company’s Incident Free Workplace Culture.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

• Compiles and maintains Health, Environmental, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures, and ensures compliance with legislative and Company requirements
• Manages Company safety related employees and personnel
• Identifies safety related training requirements for all designated Regional employees
• Assists in implementing Company Global Best Practice / Best Known Methods
• Provides advice to Company management regarding EHS issues
• Assists Management with new work pursuits, including preparing safety prequalification and client presentations
• Assists Management with new project start up
• Assists in design and implementation of safety programs to prevent or correct unsafe working conditions, utilizing knowledge of engineering technology, industrial processes, mechanics, chemistry, psychology, industrial health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices
• Supports and advises project management in the effective implementation of EHS policies and procedures
• Facilitate training as necessary
• Facilitates the Company objective of maintaining an “Incident Free Workplace”, promoting safety awareness and ownership in the designated Region
• Maintains contact and coordinates with client safety organizations
• Develops project safety plans and specifications
• Ensures project management risk assessments and activity related hazards are completed
• Undertakes formal auditing of Company workplaces to gauge compliance with Company EHS policies and procedures. Audits for a successful safety culture
• Report on project KPIs
• Manage EHS document control
• Is involved with design safety as needed

Show your expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, Environmental, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry or an applied science field preferred
• Must have one of the following Professional Certifications/License:
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
  • Professional Engineer License (PE)
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
  • Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC)
• 10 – 15+ years of experience in EHS Construction Management
• 5+ years of experience in the project scop i.e., ATF, DTC, BLS
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Exceptional organization and coordination skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft products (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.)
• Familiarity with digital platforms, ACC, DMCS, Avetta, ISN, Veriforce, Highwire etc.
