Job summary

SCP Health is seeking a Corporate Accountant to join our Lafayette team. You will manage the monthly close, mentor a team of accounting professionals, and ensure journal entries and reconciliations meet US GAAP standards.

You will prepare timely financial statements, drive process improvements, and support accounting policies and integration efforts for M&A activity. A strong Excel and accounting software skillset is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a Corporate Accounting team and supervise reconciliations.
  • Review and approve journal entries for accuracy.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements under US GAAP.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and internal controls.
  • Support accounting policies, process improvements, and integration efforts.

With a portfolio of over 8 million patients, 7500 providers, 30 states, and 400 healthcare facilities, SCP Health is a leader in clinical practice management spanning the entire continuum of care, including emergency medicine, hospital medicine, wellness, telemedicine, intensive care, and ambulatory care.Why you will love working here:- Strong track record of providing excellent work/life balance.- Comprehensive benefits package and competitive compensation.- Commitment to fostering an inclusive culture of belonging and empowerment through our core values - collaboration, courage, agility, and respect.Responsibilities:Manage the monthly close process, which includes the preparation of flash results throughout the close process.Lead and mentor a team of Corporate Accounting professionals responsible for the monthly close and balance sheet account reconciliation activities.Review and approve monthly journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.Prepare or review and approve monthly variance analyses of current period results against prior periods and current projections.Post-close, prepare timely monthly financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.Post-close, oversee the balance sheet account reconciliation process, ensuring all balance sheet accounts are reconciled in a timely manner.Establish and maintain effective internal controls related to the monthly close and balance sheet account reconciliation processes, identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.Review current processes and procedures and implement new improvements for efficiencies and accuracies.Manage and support Corporate Accounting team through coaching and a collaborative management style.Assists with accounting and integration efforts for M&A activities.Assists with establishing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.Contribute to special projects as assigned by management.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong expertise in US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.#LI-PM1Pay Range:75,280.00 - 111,435.00 USD annuallyThis range represents the anticipated base salary for this role.
