Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a Manager of Consumer Insights to lead learning plans for assigned brands and strategic workstreams within the Tyson portfolio. You will partner with cross-functional teams to clarify business questions, determine learning approaches, and deliver objective recommendations that inform brand, innovation, and growth decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Psychology, Marketing Research or related field required. Masters Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience preferably on manufacturer-side and with a branded consumer-packaged-goods company or combination of supplier-side and manufacturer-side experience.
  • Experience with research, analytics, visualization, knowledge-management, and AI-enabled tools.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business priorities into focused learning plans with clear decisions, action standards, timing, and investment requirements.
  • Ensure the consumer learning agenda is completed to address business objectives by working with cross-functional teams in Innovation, Marketing, Business Units, R&D, Sales, suppliers, agencies, and consultants.
  • Utilize best-in-class research practices and new methods to execute primary research; source syndicated scanner and panel data when relevant.
  • Independently lead complex qualitative, quantitative, and integrated research programs from problem definition through business recommendation.
  • Manage suppliers, project quality, timing, budget, and stakeholder alignment across multiple initiatives.
  • Effectively manage consumer insights budget to address both immediate and forward-looking strategic needs.
  • Advance Consumer Insights standards and procedures enterprise-wide by utilizing best-in-class research practices and new methods.

Job Details:

SUMMARY: The Manager Consumer Insights will own the development and delivery of consumer learning plans for assigned brands, businesses, categories, or strategic workstreams within the Tyson Foods portfolio. This role will partner with cross-functional teams to clarify business questions, recommend the appropriate learning approach, and deliver objective recommendations that inform brand, innovation, and growth decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Translate business priorities into focused learning plans with clear decisions, action standards, timing, and investment requirements.
  • Ensure the consumer learning agenda is completed to address business objectives by working with cross-functional teams in Innovation, Marketing, Business Units, R&D, Sales, suppliers, agencies, and consultants.
  • Utilize best-in-class research practices as well as new and innovative methods to execute primary research; source syndicated scanner and panel data when relevant.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Psychology, Marketing Research or related field required. Masters Degree preferred.
  • EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of relevant experience preferably on manufacturer-side and with a branded consumer-packaged-goods company or combination of supplier-side and manufacturer-side experience. Innovation and Food industry experience is a plus.
  • COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficiency with Microsoft 365; experience with and/or the ability to learn and apply research, analytics, visualization, knowledge-management, and AI-enabled tools
  • SPECIAL SKILLS:
    • Demonstrated success in leveraging consumer insights to drive business results.
    • Must be able to develop and share objective point-of-view while building constructive rapport with internal clients and outside research suppliers.
    • Excellent planning and project management skills.
    • Highly motivated, eager to learn, with the ability to devise an effective solution in unstructured situations.
    • Willingness to use a Test-and-learn approach to explore emerging research methods.
    • Strong knowledge of marketing and market research fundamentals.
    • Demonstrated experience selecting and applying a range of qualitative and quantitative approaches, with depth in several areas such as: Consumer segmentation and profiling, Category assessments, Purchase drivers and barriers, Concept development, optimization and validation, Brand strategy, equity, and positioning, Campaign and communication pre-testing and tracking, Need-states mapping, Identifying and utilizing trends to build foundation for successful innovation launches
