Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 9 years of related experience with HS Diploma/GED; or 5 years with a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Leadership readiness demonstrated through prior leadership roles or ASPIRE program.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the first impression of Arkansas Children's; handles scheduling and registration for outpatient clinics with accurate demographic and insurance information; supports the Access supervisor.
  • Manages patient throughput using technology and process improvements; handles referrals, price estimates, sign-ups, insurance verifications, financial counseling, scheduling, registration and patient experience.
  • Works as a team member to validate and coordinate the work of others; provides assistance to ancillary staff for flow operations.
  • Identifies deviations, understands causes, and resolves issues.
  • Ensures compliance and proper documentation for regulatory standards; plans, implements, evaluates, and reports strategic improvements; leads HR-related activities.
  • Completes registration and discharge activities, including co-payment collection, MyChart activation, insurance verification, and assisting with prior-authorization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Patient throughput expert – efficient in scheduling, admission, registration , financial counseling, insurance requirements , eligibility and authorization process . Staffs to volume, trends data to make changes to improve patient throughput, and directly engages to improve patient experience and staff retention. Develops strategic plans and goals/outcomes to achieve for the unit. Identifies key performance indicators and develops measurement/monitoring/reporting tools. Manages multiple Cost Centers as demonstrated by volume management and staffing needs; has flexibility to cross train and manage a 24/7 operation.


Required Education:

High school diploma or GED or equivalent


Recommended Education:

Bachelor's Degree


Required Work Experience:

9 years of related experience with HS Diploma/GED; or 5 years with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; demonstrated leadership readiness through either prior leadership experience or, for internal candidates, successful completion of the ASPIRE program.


Recommended Work Experience:

Leadership - 4 years of progressively responsible leadership experience preferred.


Description


  • 1. Responsible for the first impression of Arkansas Children's; Performs intermediate functions relative to scheduling and registration for outpatient clinics including complete and accurate demographic and insurance information. Supports the Access supervisor.

  • 2. Has advanced training and knowledge of responsibilities for patient throughput process using technology and physical flow process improvements. This includes processing and managing referrals, price estimates, primary care physician sign-ups, insurance verifications, finical counseling, scheduling, registration and patient experience.

  • 3. Working team member who can validate/coordinate the work of others and is a knowledgeable resource for other team members. Efficiently maintains communication and provides assistance to ancillary staff for flow operations.

  • 4. Identifies deviations, understands the cause and resolves issues.

  • 5. Manages compliance and monitors proper documentation for regulatory compliance standards. Plans, implements, evaluates and reports strategic improvement activities. Leads and conducts Human Resource management.

  • 6. Completes registration and discharge activities, including co-payment collection, My Chart activation, insurance verification, etc. Ensure financial counseling is incorporated into patient flow. Assists Outpatient Prior-Authorization with attaching referrals.

  • 7. Performs other duties as assigned.
