MANAGEMENT SERVICES & SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR

Join to apply for the MANAGEMENT SERVICES & SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR role at NYC Department of Social Services.

Position Overview

The DSS Finance Executive Office is seeking one (1) Principal Administrative Associate (PAA) II in the Administrative Services Unit to serve as the Management Services & Special Events Coordinator. Responsibilities include:

  1. Coordinating office equipment and supplies procurement, delivery, and maintenance.
  2. Planning, coordinating, and fundraising for staff events aligned with agency initiatives.
  3. Managing operations related to office space, inventory, environment, and record retention.
  4. Handling mail distribution and supervising support staff as needed.
  5. Preparing reports and maintaining emergency and administrative manuals.
  6. Coordinating staff training and informing about civil service examinations.
  7. liaising with support offices to ensure smooth operations.
  8. Performing other special projects as assigned.
Work Details
  • Location: 4 World Trade Center, New York, NY
  • Schedule: 9 AM to 5 PM
Minimum Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree and three years of relevant clerical/administrative experience, including supervisory experience, or
  • Associate degree/60 credits and four years of relevant experience, including supervisory experience, or
  • High school diploma and five years of relevant experience, including supervisory experience, or
  • Equivalent education/experience with one year of supervisory experience.

This position is open to qualified persons with a disability under the 55-a Program. Consideration for federal and state loan forgiveness programs is available.
