Job summary

The City of Fort Worth Neighborhood Services Department seeks a Management Analyst I to coordinate programs, budgets, and KPIs within the Administrative Financial Services team. You will develop dashboards, track projects, and report on funding, ensuring alignment with city plans and procedures.

The role involves collaboration with internal and external customers, grant management, and preparation of memos and communications for Mayor and Council. Some evenings/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Five years of experience in local government administration (preferred).
  • Experience with budget preparation, forecasting, and control.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and specialized software for budgeting and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, monitor, and analyze division budgets and expenditures.
  • Provide monthly budget and project status reports.
  • Communicate budget and funding issues, project performance, and status.
  • Prepare internal memos, mayor & council communications, written reports, and schedules.
  • Develop dashboards and project tracking methodologies for departmental programs.

Job description

Pay Range: $26.38 – 34.30/hr.

Workdays & Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm; Some evening/weekend work required.

A Management Analyst I job is available with the City of Fort Worth Neighborhood Services Department’s Administrative Financial Services team. This position will be responsible for coordination of and reporting on programs, budgets, key performance indicators, contracts, grant compliance, and mayor and council communications. Work will focus on tracking the status of projects and budgets, development of dashboards, prioritizing activities, and working collaboratively with multiple internal and external customers to ensure adherence to City plans and procedures.

This is a grant-funded position.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Public Administration, Finance, Business Administration, or related
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of experience in local government administration
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experienced with Peoplesoft Financials, Neighborly software, and Smartsheet
  • Knowledge and skill in principles of budget preparation, analysis, forecasting and control
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
The Management Analyst I Job Responsibilities Include
  • Developing, monitoring, and analyzing division budgets and expenditures
  • Providing monthly budget and project status reports
  • Communicating budget and funding issues, project performance, and status
  • Preparing internal memoranda, mayor & council communications, written reports, spreadsheet analyses, and program schedules
  • Developing dashboards and project tracking methodologies to ensure situational awareness of Departmental programs and projects
  • Ensuring coordination between federal and local budgets, ensuring consistency across various software platforms and Department divisions
  • Assisting with grant reporting, grant development, and grant budgeting
  • Working on another project request from the supervisor
Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking and repetitive motions.

Light Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
