Job description

Overview

As Managed IT Solutions Engineer, you will be the primary technical and consultative point of contact for maritime customers worldwide. Reporting to the Director, Managed IT Services with a dotted line to the Regional Sales Manager, you will work with the Sales team translate complex vessel and fleet IT requirements into bespoke, deliverable solutions — spanning network design, hardware, and managed services — while partnering internally with sales, engineering, and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with channel partners, shipping companies, vessel operators, and fleet managers to understand and document IT and connectivity requirements.

  • Design bespoke, fit-for-purpose IT solutions covering vessel networking (VSAT, LTE, Wi-Fi), onboard IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and managed IT services.

  • Produce detailed technical proposals, scopes of work, and Bill of Materials (BoM) to support commercial quotes and customer sign-off.

  • Act as the technical bridge between customers and internal teams (sales, engineering, operations, procurement) throughout project delivery lifecycle.

  • Oversee and support the delivery and commissioning of IT solutions, providing on-site assistance or remote technical guidance as required.

  • Contribute to product development by feeding back customer insights, solution gaps, and market trends to the Director of Managed Services.

  • Support commercial opportunities by participating in customer meetings, RFP responses, technical presentations and trade shows alongside sales teams.

  • Working closely with Sales Managers and attending meetings with them to promote IT services.

  • Ensure all designs comply with maritime regulations, vendor standards, and internal quality/security frameworks.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of maritime IT trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings.
