Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform screening, diagnostic and invasive mammography exams, with strong MQSA knowledge and patient-focused service. You will review patient history and orders, ensure image quality, and collaborate with Radiologists to deliver accurate, efficient imaging care.

The role requires technical proficiency, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work independently in a busy radiology department.

Qualifications

• MQSA and radiation safety knowledge required.
• Excellent communication and patient service skills to work with physicians and staff.
• Ability to work independently and manage imaging procedures.
• Intermediate computer skills for RIS and billing documentation.

Responsibilities

• Proficiently performs basic to advanced mammography examinations, including diagnostic and invasive procedures.
• Reviews patient history, medical records, and orders to obtain necessary clinical information and breast health history.
• Evaluates image quality, positioning, technique, artifacts and compression; repeats images as needed.
• Post-processes images, labels shots correctly and ensures accurate patient charges in the RIS.
• Collaborates with Radiologists and staff; provides education to patients and colleagues as needed.
