Job Description :

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This role involves performing mammography procedures in accordance with applicable standards, policies, values, and the mission of the organization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Positioning patients and performing imaging procedures. Reviewing images for quality issues and taking corrective actions such as repositioning and repeating procedures. Documenting patient and imaging data in EHR systems. (50%)
2. Reviewing patient history and physician's orders. Educating patients about procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation. (20%)
3. Preparing and administering contrast media and/or medications within scope. Monitoring patient condition and responding to changes. Assisting physicians with interventional procedures like fine needle aspiration and needle localization when ordered. (15%)
4. Preparing equipment and supplies. Selecting appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Ensuring safety standards and regulatory compliance, including quality control and accreditation documentation. Troubleshooting equipment issues and participating in MQSA compliance. (15%)
5. Performing additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a recognized college or technical school
• Radiography certification
• Mammography certification - to be obtained within 12 months of hire
• CPR certification (American Heart Association)
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance
