Job summary

Solis Mammography in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Mammography Technologist to operate x-ray equipment and perform diagnostic mammography with precision in positioning and exposure technique.

The ideal candidate holds ARRT Radiography certification, with ARRT Mammography advanced certification or MQSA qualification, is current with continuing education, and has state licensure; two years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Formal radiologic technology training with ARRT Radiography certification.
• ARRT Mammography advanced certification with clinical experience, or MQSA qualified/registry eligible.
• Current continuing education and MQSA/ARRT requirements.
• Non-restricted state licensure.
• Two years of mammography experience preferred.
• Knowledge of RIS/PACS software preferred.
• Read, write, and understand medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Provide mammography services with accurate positioning and exposure technique.
• Communicate procedures clearly to patients and educate on breast health.

Work Location:

Gainesville, FL

Work Hours:

(Full-Time) Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm (No Weekends!)

The Mammography Technologist operates x-ray equipment and performs a variety of mammography-related diagnostic procedures. Individual must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique.

Here is what you will need:

• Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program and hold current certification by ARRT in Radiography;
• ARRT advanced level certification in mammography with documentation of clinical experience, or
• MQSA qualified and (M) registry eligible;
• Current on all required continuing education and continuing experience as required by MQSA and ARRT;
• High School Diploma; Associates degree preferred;
• Must possess non-restricted licensure in state work location;
• Knowledge of database software, RIS/PACS software is preferred;
• Two years of experience in mammography is preferred;
• Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies is preferred;
• Prior quality control experience preferred;
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology

A Day in the Life of a Mammography Technologist:

• Provide services and support for the following areas:
  • Understands, promotes and demonstrates the Solis Way
  • Consistently practices excellent mammography positioning and exposure technique;
  • Ability to effectively communicate to patients the procedures and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health;
  • Ability to effectively communicate on an individual and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees;
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes complicated, written or oral instructions;
  • Must maintain patient-first focus at all times and exhibit outstanding customer service skills;
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
