Job summary

Ascension is seeking a part-time Mammography Technologist at St. Vincent Fishers Hospital in Fishers, IN. You will operate state-of-the-art mammography equipment, position patients, and ensure high-quality diagnostic images.

You will educate patients on breast health, adhere to radiation safety standards, and promptly submit images and data to PACS. A current BLS certificate and ARRT/ARDMS or equivalent credential are required prior to hire.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date.
• Credentialing in Cardiographic Tech, Radiography, Mammography or Sonography prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate mammography equipment and position patients for high-quality images.
• Explain procedures and educate patients on breast health and screenings.
• Maintain image quality, comply with radiation safety, and submit images to PACS in a timely manner.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver Precision Imaging: Accurately operate state-of-the-art mammography equipment and expertly position patients to ensure the capture of high-quality diagnostic images.
• Champion Patient Education: Clearly explain procedures and patiently educate individuals on the vital role of regular screenings and preventive breast health, fostering a comfortable and informed experience.
• Ensure Quality and Compliance: Maintain the highest standards for image technical quality (density, contrast, definition), strictly adhere to all radiation safety protocols, and ensure accurate, timely submission of images and patient data to PACS.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Mammography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• ultrasound experience preferred but not necessary
