Job summary

Ascension's Seton Highland Lakes in Burnet, TX is seeking a Mammography Technologist to deliver high‑quality diagnostic imaging and ensure precise patient positioning for breast health screenings.

You will operate imaging equipment within an electronic health record environment, explain procedures to patients, and collaborate with the care team to uphold radiation safety and quality standards. A sign-on bonus is available.

Qualifications

  • BLS Provider within 30 days of hire.
  • ARRT Radiologic Technologist in Radiology before hire.
  • 40-hour federally approved mammography training within 3 months and 25 supervised studies.
  • ARRT General Practice credential from Texas program prior to hire.
  • ARRT Mammography credential preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging with precise patient positioning for breast health screenings.
  • Explain procedures and educate patients on the role of mammography in preventive healthcare.
  • Operate advanced imaging tasks using EHR systems and document in PACS.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to uphold radiation safety and quality standards.
  • Submit high-resolution images and patient history into PACS for seamless care.

How you’ll make an impact in this role
  • Deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging as a Mammography Technologist, ensuring precise patient positioning and technical parameter selection for accurate breast health screenings.
  • Provide compassionate patient care by explaining clinical procedures and educating individuals on the vital role of mammography in preventive healthcare.
  • Execute advanced medical imaging tasks using modern EHR systems to maintain clinical documentation, ensuring image quality meets strict diagnostic standards.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to uphold radiation safety protocols and quality improvement guidelines for optimal patient and staff safety.
  • Manage mammography equipment performance and facilitate seamless care coordination by submitting high-resolution images and patient history into the PACS network.
What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiology credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Requires completion of a federally approved 40 hour mammography training course within 3 Months (90 days) of hire and completion of 25 supervised mammography studies to meet Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) requirements.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in General Practice credentialed from the Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification Program obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Mammography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred.
Education
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
