Job summary

HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital is seeking a Florida-licensed Mammography Technician to perform routine mammographic procedures including stereotactic, ABBI and needle localization. We prioritize patient care and accuracy in imaging.

As part of our imaging team you will prepare and position patients, operate equipment safely, document exam details in MEDITECH, and communicate with radiologists and colleagues to ensure quality patient experiences.

Qualifications

• AMA-approved school of radiologic technology graduate.
• Current ARRT (R) and ARRT (M) credentials.
• Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT) active.
• BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of mammography equipment and maintenance.
• 1–2 years imaging experience in hospital or outpatient setting.
• Lifts up to 50 lbs; frequent lifting up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography/radiology studies with high-quality images.
• Prepare, transfer and position patients, maintaining modesty.
• Document clinical information prior to exams; complete MEDITECH fields.
• Maintain communication with patients, radiologists and colleagues.
• Check equipment operation and keep room stocks stocked and clean.

We are currently seeking a Florida-licensed Mammography Technician to perform routine preventative and diagnostic mammographic procedures including stereotactic, ABBI and breast needle localization procedures. As a Mammographer on our team, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform mammography/radiology studies in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner obtaining high-quality images ready for interpretation
• Prepare, transfer and position patients as needed ensuring modesty, safely utilizing auxiliary equipment and/or devices indicated
• Document all pertinent clinical information prior to exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time
• Maintain proactive and effective communication with patient and other caregiver colleagues to include the radiologist
• Check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases and keep room stocked with necessary supplies

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology
• Current ARRT (R) and ARRT (M)
• Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Knowledge of the use and maintenance of equipment specific to mammography
• Minimum of 1-2 years of current/recent diagnostic imaging experience (hospital or outpatient setting)
• Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
