Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Mammography Imaging Professional at St. Vincent Carmel Hospital in Carmel, IN. You will provide mammography imaging services, position patients and ensure high-quality images for accurate breast health assessment.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, educating patients on preventive breast health, maintaining image quality, following safety guidelines, and keeping the department clean and orderly.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date.
• Cardiographic Tech credentialed from CCI before hire date.
• ARRT Radiologic Technologist (Radiography) credential before hire date.
• ARRT Mammography credential before hire date.
• ARDMS Sonography credential before hire date.

Responsibilities

• Operate mammography equipment and position patients with correct parameters.
• Educate patients about the role of regular mammography in breast health.
• Develop and evaluate film for density, contrast, definition and distortion.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
• Submit high-quality images and patient data to PACS with correct markers.
• Ensure equipment is functioning and report malfunctions.
• Maintain a clean, organized department and rooms.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

Provide mammography imaging services.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and perform various mammography related procedures. Prepares and positions patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.

• Explain procedures and educate patients about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health.

• Develop and evaluate the film for technical quality such as density contrast, definition, anddistortion.

• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.

• Ensure prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).

• Ensure equipment is properly functioning. Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.

• Assist in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• One or more of the following required:

• Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Mammography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
