Job summary

Ascension Health is seeking a Mammography Radiologic Technologist for Via Christi St. Joseph in Wichita, KS. You will perform high-quality mammography imaging, educate patients, and uphold safety and data submission standards to PACS.

The role supports professional growth with tuition benefits and potential clinic float. Full-time with day shifts and weekend requirements provides a stable, mission-driven nursing environment.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider obtained within 30 days of hire date.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist credentialed by Kansas Board of Healing Arts within 90 days.
• ARRT Radiography credentialed within 90 days.
• ARRT Mammography credentialed within 15 months.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience.
• Associate's degree/Technical degree or 4 years of applicable experience.
• Graduated from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional mammography imaging by properly positioning patients and optimizing parameters.
• Educate patients about the importance of regular mammography and breast health.
• Maintain quality and safety by evaluating image quality and adhering to radiation safety.
• Monitor equipment and keep the clinical space clean and organized.

Education

Associate's degree/Technical degree

Speciality: Mammography

Schedule: Day l Full-Time | 3-4 days per weekend in Mammography, variable 8 hour shifts | Every other weekend in Diagnostic (x-ray) 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver exceptional mammography imaging services by accurately preparing and positioning patients, selecting technical parameters, and capturing high-quality images to ensure precise diagnostic outcomes.
• Empower and educate patients by clearly explaining procedures and highlighting the vital role regular mammography plays in preventive breast health, fostering a supportive and reassuring environment.
• Maintain rigorous quality and safety standards by evaluating image technical quality (density, contrast, definition), applying strict radiation safety guidelines, and ensuring flawless data submissions to PACS.
• Champion equipment integrity and environmental care by monitoring machine functionality, reporting technical malfunctions promptly, and maintaining a clean, orderly clinical space to optimize the patient experience.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the Kansas Board of Healing Arts obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Mammography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 15 Months (1 1/4 year) of hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

What additional preferences we're seeking

• Graduated from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
