Job summary

Solis Mammography is seeking a Mammographer/Sonographer Technologist to independently operate mammography and breast ultrasound equipment, ensuring precise images and patient comfort. You will collaborate with radiologists and staff to deliver exceptional breast health care, while maintaining MQSA compliance and ongoing education.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program and hold current certification by ARRT in Radiography
  • Completion of advanced level didactic and clinical training in breast sonography prior to hire
  • ARRT advanced level certification in mammography with documentation of clinical experience, or MQSA qualified and (M) registry eligible
  • ARRT advanced level certification in breast sonography (BS)
  • Dual mammo/sono certification and annual ongoing education per MQSA/ARRRT requirements
  • Non-restricted state licensure where required
  • Two years of mammography experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate mammography and breast ultrasound equipment with high accuracy in positioning and image quality
  • Provide clear communication to patients and clinicians throughout imaging procedures
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform basic QC tests and maintenance
  • Collaborate with radiologists and center staff to deliver consistent patient care
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and dignity during imaging procedures

Mammographer/Sonographer Technologist

Work Location: (Alliance) 3025 North Tarrant Pkwy Suite 250 Fort Worth, TX 76177

Work Hours: Full-Time, Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

The Mammo Sono Technologist is responsible for the independent operation of mammography and sonography equipment to create necessary images for imaging procedures with a high degree of accuracy in positioning and image quality techniques, employing effective patient and clinician communication.

Here Is What You Will Need
  • Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program and hold current certification by ARRT in Radiography
  • Completion of advanced level didactic and clinical training in breast sonography either through Solis University or a qualifying external program prior to hire.
  • ARRT advanced level certification in mammography with documentation of clinical experience, or MQSA qualified and (M) registry eligible.
  • ARRT advanced level certification in breast sonography (BS).
  • Technologists must also meet organizationally defined minimum exam frequency requirements for both modalities to qualify for dual mammo/sono role and is assessed annually. Dual certification alone is insufficient for qualification.
  • Current on all required continuing education and continuing experience as required by MQSA and ARRT.
  • High School Diploma; Associate degree preferred.
  • Must possess non-restricted licensure in state work location as required.
  • Two years of experience in mammography is preferred.
A Day In The Life Of a Mammographer/Sonographer Technologist
  • Provide services and support for the following areas:
    • Understands, promotes and demonstrates the Solis Way.
    • Consistently practices excellent mammography positioning and exposure techniques.
    • Produces high quality breast ultrasound images and obtains appropriate measurements according to ACR guidelines.
    • Performs mammography and breast sonography exams at organizationally defined minimum exam frequency thresholds for dual role.
    • Explains procedures adequately to patients to maximize patient comfort and cooperation.
    • Maintains mammography and ultrasound equipment for cleanliness and ensures proper equipment maintenance and equipment safety.
    • Performs Quality Control tests/maintenance of equipment as required.
    • Maintains a good working relationship with Radiologists and other Center staff members
    • Ability to effectively communicate on an individual and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees.
    • Appropriate monitoring during all phases of procedure with special care taken to ensure patient emotional and physical well-being
    • Maintains patient-first focus and exhibits outstanding customer service skills
    • Assist and/or chaperones radiologist when performing ultrasound/mammographic exams and/or procedures as appropriate.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes complicated, written or oral instructions.
