Job summary

Piedmont Fayette Hospital is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform quality screening and diagnostic mammography procedures, ensuring accurate exams and proper labeling. • Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and notes on additional pertinent information.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
• May be required to demonstrate competence and proficiency in performing all radiological procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains proficiency to perform breast imaging interventional procedures.
• Assist with performing and planning multiple diagnostic procedures in appropriate time sequences.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
• Acts as a mentor for residents and junior technologists.
• Ensures department meets all regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Education

Work Experience

• 1 year as a Mammography Technologist required

Licenses and Certifications

• (R) ARDMS or ARRT - Radiographer Registered Radiologic Technologist in Radiography (R) upon hire required

• BCLS - Basic Life Support upon hire required
