Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform specialized breast examinations and operate mammographic equipment. You will ensure high-quality imaging, proper documentation, and adherence to regulatory requirements.

The role requires ARRT in Radiography and Mammography with BLS on hire, plus AMA/JRCERT‑accredited training. Prior experience is preferred but not required, with opportunities to grow within Piedmont’s radiology team.

Qualifications

• AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT-accredited hospital-based training program required.
• Experience: no experience required; 1 year as Mammography Technologist preferred.
• Licensure and certifications must be ARRT Radiography and Mammography.
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews exam requisitions and notes additional pertinent information.
• Positioning patients and equipment, selecting protocols and techniques.
• Evaluates images for diagnostic quality andObtains additional images as needed.
• Maintains records and reports as required by regulatory agencies.
• Provides customer service and support to patients.

Responsibilities

The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.

What you will do

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
