Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform specialized breast imaging and support the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease. You will operate mammographic equipment, position patients, select protocols, and ensure diagnostic quality of images while maintaining accurate documentation.

The role requires ARRT registrations for Radiography and Mammography, AMA/JRCERT education, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.
• No experience required; 1 year experience preferred.
• ARRT Radiography registration required; Mammography registration required upon hire.
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews exam requisitions and notes pertinent information.
• Positioning of patient and equipment; selects protocol and imaging technique.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and obtain additional images as needed.
• Ensure accuracy of exams by following procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide customer service and support to patient population.
• Maintain records and reports per federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities:

The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.

What you will do

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
