Job summary

Piedmont Mountainside Hospital is seeking a dedicated Mammography Technologist to perform specialized breast examinations and operate mammographic radiographic equipment. Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program is required.
• No experience required for entry; 1 year of mammography experience is preferred.
• Licenses and certifications must be obtained at hire: ARRT Radiography and ARRT Mammography, BLS.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews exam requisitions for pertinent information and notes additional details.
• Positions patient and equipment, selects protocol, and uses all required imaging equipment.
• Evaluates images for diagnostic quality and requests additional views as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of exam labeling and documentation; maintains required records.
• Provides customer service and support to the patient population.
• Maintains regulatory compliance with applicable federal and state agencies.

Responsibilities

The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.

What You Will Do

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
