Job summary

Piedmont Fayette Hospital is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform quality breast imaging and related radiology procedures on patients of various ages. You will position patients, set protocols, evaluate image quality and assist with planning multiple diagnostic procedures as needed.

The role requires ARRT/MAMMO certification upon hire and BCLS, with prior mammography experience and a commitment to patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program required.
• 1 year of Mammography Technologist experience required.
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) upon hire required.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions and notes pertinent information.
• Position patient and equipment, select protocol and utilize required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and obtain additional images as needed.
• Ensure accuracy of exams by following procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide customer service/support to patient population.
• Maintain records and files as required by regulatory agencies.
• Mentor residents and junior technologists.
• Ensure department meets all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

What you will do

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
• May be required to demonstrate competence and proficiency in performing all radiological procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains proficiency to perform breast imaging interventional procedures.
• Assist with performing and planning multiple diagnostic procedures in appropriate time sequences.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
• Acts as a mentor for residents and junior technologists.
• Ensures department meets all regulatory requirements.

• (R) ARDMS or ARRT - Radiographer Registered Radiologic Technologist in Radiography (R) upon hire required
