Job summary

Piedmont Fayette Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform quality screening and diagnostic mammography exams. You will position patients, select protocols, and ensure imaging meets regulatory standards while delivering compassionate care.

The ideal candidate has an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program, ARRT and/or ARDMS certification, BCLS and at least one year of mammography experience, with mentoring duties and department compliance responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited program.
• 1 year of Mammography Technologist experience required.
• AR DMS/ARRT Radiographer and Mammography certifications required on hire.
• BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews exam requisitions for pertinent information and notes additional information.
• Demonstrates competence in positioning the patient and equipment, selecting protocol and utilizing required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and obtain additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintains records, reports and files as required by regulatory agencies.
• Mentor residents and junior technologists.
• Ensures department meets regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

What you will do

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
• May be required to demonstrate competence and proficiency in performing all radiological procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains proficiency to perform breast imaging interventional procedures.
• Assist with performing and planning multiple diagnostic procedures in appropriate time sequences.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
• Acts as a mentor for residents and junior technologists.
• Ensures department meets all regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Education

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program required

Work Experience

• 1 year as a Mammography Technologist required

Licenses and Certifications

• (R) ARDMS or ARRT - Radiographer Registered Radiologic Technologist in Radiography (R) upon hire required
• (M) ARDMS or ARRT - Mammography Mammography (M) - ARRT upon hire required
• BCLS - Basic Life Support upon hire required
