Job summary

Key School is seeking a long-term substitute to teach Maker Technology and Innovation classes from mid-December 2026 through mid-April 2027. The position serves students ages three through Second Grade and reports to division heads in the Lower School.

The teacher will deliver age-appropriate, culturally responsive instruction, support early childhood learning, and contribute to a collaborative, interdisciplinary design environment on a mid-size campus near Annapolis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2-5 years teaching experience preferred.
• STEM/innovation experience in early childhood or elementary setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute weekly Maker Tech design and creation lessons for ages three to eight.
• Plan and implement bi-weekly introductory Coding lessons for First and Second Grade.
• Collaborate with homeroom teachers to develop interdisciplinary projects.
• Organize and maintain an innovation lab.
• Attend weekly faculty meetings and professional development.
• Collaborate with Innovation and Engineering Department members.
• Participate in Trimester Report writing.
