QPS Employment Group is seeking a Make-Ready Technician with HVAC experience to join our maintenance team. You will prepare vacant apartment homes for new residents, perform repairs, HVAC service, and unit inspections to ensure quality standards are met.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer service, safety, and working across indoor and outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of apartment maintenance or related maintenance experience preferred.
• HVAC experience required.
• EPA Certification (Type II or Universal preferred).
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, appliance repair, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
• Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues independently.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vacant apartment homes for occupancy within designated turnaround timelines.
• Inspect vacant units and identify repairs needed.
• Repair or replace doors, locks, windows, blinds, hardware, cabinetry, and fixtures.
• Install and repair appliances as needed.
• Replace flooring materials and complete minor carpentry work.
• Perform preventive HVAC maintenance and troubleshoot systems.

Make-Ready Technician w/HVAC

Wage: $23.00 per hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm (Mon-Fri)

QPS Employment Group is seeking a skilled and dependable Make Ready Technician with HVAC experience to join a great maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing vacant apartment homes for new residents by completing maintenance repairs, preventive maintenance, HVAC service, and unit inspections while ensuring apartments meet the company's quality standards.

This position requires strong troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a safe, attractive community.

Make-Ready Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Prepare vacant apartment homes for occupancy within designated turnaround timelines.
• Complete inspections of vacant units and identify necessary repairs.
• Perform drywall repairs, painting, touch-ups, and wall patching.
• Repair or replace doors, locks, windows, blinds, hardware, cabinetry, and fixtures.
• Install and repair appliances as needed.
• Replace flooring materials and complete minor carpentry work.
• Ensure apartments are cleaned and presentable prior to move-in.
• Conduct final quality inspections before releasing units for occupancy.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential HVAC systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on heating and cooling equipment.
• Replace filters, belts, thermostats, capacitors, motors, and other HVAC components.
• Monitor HVAC performance and make recommendations for repairs or replacements.
• Assist with emergency HVAC service calls.
• Maintain compliance with EPA regulations and industry standards.
• Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner.
• Repair plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems within scope of experience.
• Maintain community grounds and common areas as needed.
• Participate in on-call rotations for emergency maintenance requests.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory.

Make-Ready Technician Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of apartment maintenance or related maintenance experience preferred.
• HVAC experience required.
• EPA Certification (Type II or Universal preferred).
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, appliance repair, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
• Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues independently.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Ability to use ladders, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.

Preferred Skills:

• Universal EPA Certification.
• CPO (Certified Pool Operator) Certification.
• Prior multifamily housing experience.
• Knowledge of property management maintenance software.
