Ardent Communities is seeking dependable Make-Ready Maintenance Technicians to prepare apartments for move-in in Westerville, OH. You will handle turns, punch lists, basic plumbing/electrical, appliance work, and safety checks to ensure quality.

The role emphasizes efficiency, reliability, and attention to detail while maintaining safe work practices per OSHA standards. Must provide own tools; company supplies specialty tools and uniforms.

Qualifications

• Experience in apartment maintenance and unit turns preferred.
• Strong repair and troubleshooting skills required.
• Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge expected.

Responsibilities

• Complete apartment turns efficiently and on schedule.
• Handle punch-out items including flooring repairs, doors, trim, hardware, and fixtures.
• Perform basic plumbing and electrical repairs (leaks, fixtures, outlets, switches).
• Replace appliances and complete minor appliance repairs.
• Ensure units meet quality and safety standards before move-in.
• Communicate with maintenance supervisor and property team.

Description

We are seeking dependable Make-Ready Maintenance Technicians to prepare units for move-in. This role focuses on apartment turns, punch lists, and completing repairs quickly without sacrificing quality or attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete apartment turns efficiently and on schedule
• Handle punch-out items including flooring repairs, doors, trim, hardware, and fixtures
• Perform basic plumbing and electrical repairs (leaks, fixtures, outlets, switches)
• Replace appliances and complete minor appliance repairs
• Ensure units meet company quality and safety standards before move-in
• Work efficiently while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
• Communicate clearly with the maintenance supervisor and property team

All maintenance must be conducted within a safe environment and adhere to all OSHA standards. If an unsafe atmosphere is present you must notify your manager immediately. We will make every effort to improve that environment. If we cannot safely provide that service, we will contract those service to the proper professionals.

Requirements

• 1+ year of maintenance unit turn experience preferred, or motivated to learn
• Strong general repair and troubleshooting skills
• Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge
• Proven ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
• High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Reliable, self-motivated, and safety-conscious
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Providing your own tools and reliable transportation. (Ardent Property Management will provide all specialty tools. All hand tools are to be provided by the maintenance technician.)
• HVAC certification (preferred, not required)
