Job summary

Elevate Patient Financial Solutions is seeking a Hospital Based Patient Advocate in Billings, Montana. This full-time, 100% onsite role places you at the bedside to guide uninsured patients through Medicaid and other financial assistance programs, with a schedule including Tue–Wed 11:30-8pm and rotating Saturdays 11:30-8pm.

You will screen patients, complete applications, and document cases in hospital and Elevate systems, collaborating with case managers and government agencies to ensure timely

Qualifications

• Some college coursework preferred.
• Prior hospital experience preferred.
• Adaptability to changing processes, computer systems and government programs.
• Professional experience working with state and federal programs.
• Critical thinking skills.
• Ability to maneuver throughout the hospital and patients’ rooms during scheduled shift.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel and Outlook.
• Effective communication, both oral and written, with diverse individuals.

Responsibilities

• Screen uninsured hospital patients at bedside to determine eligibility for federal, state, and/or county medical or disability programs.
• Complete the appropriate applications and follow through until approved.
• Document cases accurately and timely in Elevate PFS and hospital systems.
• Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
• Maintain the assigned work queue of patient accounts.
• Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, and financial counselors.
• Answer calls and track enrollment/renewal paperwork for Medicaid patients.
• Maintain timely contact with applicants and government agencies by phone when possible.
• Assist applicants with gathering additional reports or records and arranging transportation when needed.
• Conduct in-person community visits to acquire documentation.
• Inform clients of approvals/denials per protocol and attend required trainings.
• Attend ongoing training to stay updated on rules related to governmental programs.
• Maintain regular and timely attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.
