Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern Territory seeks a development leader to plan, develop and manage the Major Gifts Department within the Development area. You will coordinate major funding from individuals, prepare proposals, and seek new funding opportunities to support Army programs in the Area Command.

You will work with the Director of Development to cultivate major gift resources, multi-year commitments and other strategic support to generate revenue.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, marketing, communication, or related field.
• Three to five years related fundraising experience, with two years in major gifts and one year in supervisory role.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Valid State Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops and manages a Major Gifts Program for the Area Command.
• Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards major gift prospects using moves management concepts.
• Manages a donor portfolio and maintains donor data in the donor relationship management database.
• Coordinates and supports Command-wide events and activities; provides fundraising event consulting as needed.
• Leads or supports involvement of key community leaders and volunteers to achieve fundraising goals.
