Job summary

The Salvation Army Area Command in Dallas seeks a Major Gifts Officer to plan, develop, and manage a robust Major Gifts Program, focusing on major gifts from individuals and coordinating proposals.

You will lead moves management with a 200–250 donor portfolio, collaborate with the Director of Development, coordinate events, engage community and corporate leaders, and supervise staff, all while upholding professional donor care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communication, or related field.
• 3–5 years related work experience in fundraising, with two years in major gifts, and one year in supervisory role preferred.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, coordinates and evaluates an aggressive Major Gifts Program for the Area Command.
• Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards major gift prospects using moves management concepts.
• Manages a portfolio of approximately 200–250 existing donors using moves management.
• Maintains donor information in the Area Command donor relationship management database.
• Coordinates Command-wide events and activities; secures and manages vendor services.
• Engages key community leaders and volunteers to meet event revenue goals.
