Job summary

KUOW Public Radio, Seattle, seeks a Philanthropy Officer to manage a 150+ donor portfolio, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts to support KUOW’s mission. The role blends frontline fundraising with relationship management and mentoring within the Donor Engagement team, with hybrid/occasional telework options.

You will grow annual, special, and transformational gifts, create donor materials, and represent KUOW at events to advance philanthropic support.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree and at least four years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising or related field.
• Demonstrated success in cultivating donor relationships and securing major gifts.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written, phone, and in-person).
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify and manage a portfolio of ~150 major donors to grow contributions.
• Develop cultivation strategies and draft proposals to move donors to solicitation.
• Collaborate with Philanthropy colleagues to steward major donor prospects.
• Plan and execute targeted donor events.
• Create communication materials for cultivation and stewardship, including letters and case statements.
• Represent KUOW at donor events and community functions.
• Identify and cultivate estate and planned gifts.
• Support campaigns and secure matching gifts within portfolio.
