Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory seeks a Major Gifts Officer to drive fundraising with a focus on gifts of $5,000 and higher. The role manages a portfolio of major donors, crafts personalized engagement plans, and coordinates with senior staff to expand giving within Indiana Division.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in non-profit management or related field, with five years in fundraising and proficiency in Salesforce and donor stewardship. Some travel is required to engage donors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in non-profit management, marketing, business administration or related fields or equivalent experience.
• Advanced degree and/or CFRE credentials preferred.
• 5 years' experience in non-profit fundraising with a proven track record in major gifts solicitation.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects to secure gifts $5,000+, and achieve annual major gifts revenue goals.
• Develop and execute a portfolio communications plan with personalized donor strategies.
• Lead one-to-one solicitation, gift acknowledgments, and stewardship communications, with travel as needed.
• Input donor activities into Salesforce and track donor preferences and biographical information.
• Collaborate with senior staff and volunteers to deepen donor engagement and opportunities.
• Support events and donor meetings for cultivation and stewardship purposes.
