Job summary

The Salvation Army in Texas is seeking a Major Gifts Department leader to plan, develop, and manage major gift fundraising efforts. You will coordinate major funding, prepare proposals, and drive strategies aligned with the Area Command's development goals.

Working with the Director of Development, you will cultivate individual donors, multi-year commitments, and strategic support, while representing the organization in public forums and community engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communication, or related field.
• Three to five years related work experience in fundraising, with two years in major gifts, with one year in supervisory role preferred.
• Certifications: Valid State Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating fundraising strategies to meet department and Area Command goals.
• Prepare solicitation materials for individual, corporate, and foundation prospects; accompany leadership on donor visits.
• Attend meetings and community events to promote Salvation Army programs and develop development opportunities.
• Act as liaison to prospects, donors, and external contacts; develop relationships with the local and broader community.
