Qualifications

• 2+ years of high-volume, upscale dining or premium hospitality experience.
• Hands-on experience with reservation platforms OpenTable (or SevenRooms/Resy) required.
• Exceptional communication skills, elevated social awareness and a refined demeanor.
• Ability to remain composed, organized and lead during peak hours.
• Strong knowledge of Scottsdale hospitality and dining scene preferred.

Responsibilities

• Floor & Reservation Management: drive host stand operations via OpenTable and optimize seating flow.
• Guest Relations & Personalization: greet guests, track profiles and preferences to tailor experiences.
• Service Leadership: lead on the floor with managers, coordinate FOH and BOH teams.
• Guest Recovery: address concerns with diplomacy, empathy and speed.
• Local Insight & Networking: engage with concierges and local clients to drive reservations.
• Team Mentorship: train host staff on reservations and hospitality protocols.
• Administrative Support: assist with system configuration and floor planning as needed.

Position Overview

KUZA Asian Fusion & Lounge is seeking a polished, charismatic, and hospitality-driven Maître D’ to serve as the signature face of our dining room. This role goes far beyond traditional hosting. We are looking for an elevated host-leader who thrives in a high-energy, upscale environment and understands that world-class hospitality relies on presence, relationship-building, and meticulous attention to detail.

The ideal candidate possesses deep emotional intelligence, excels at managing high-volume reservation flow, and naturally connects with guests. You value people as much as operations—using tools like OpenTable to track names, VIP preferences, celebrations, and subtle details that convert first-time visitors into loyal regulars while maintaining a seamless, positive environment for both guests and staff.

Responsibilities

• Floor & Reservation Management: Drive host stand operations through OpenTable, directing table seating flow, managing waitlists, optimizing turn times, and balancing dining room pacing to maximize capacity.
• Guest Relations & Personalization: Greet guests warmly, recognize returning patrons, and maintain detailed guest profiles in OpenTable (including preferences, dietary restrictions, celebrations, and seating habits) to deliver tailored dining experiences.
• Service Leadership: Act as a commanding, graceful presence on the floor alongside managers, delegating tasks to host staff and ensuring seamless alignment between FOH and BOH teams.
• Guest Recovery: Address immediate guest concerns or service bottlenecks on the floor with diplomacy, empathy, and speed.
• Local Insight & Networking: Maintain strong familiarity with Scottsdale’s luxury hotel concierges, local businesses, regular clientele, tourism trends, and local events to drive reservations and community engagement.
• Team Mentorship: Model KUZA’s service standards, assist in training host personnel on reservation software and hospitality protocols, and help foster a positive, high-performance team culture.
• Administrative Support: Assist management with OpenTable system configuration, shift notes, floor map optimization, special event allocations, and administrative tasks as the role evolves.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years of high-volume, upscale dining, luxury lounge, or premium hospitality experience preferred.
• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience and familiarity with OpenTable (or similar reservation management platforms like SevenRooms/Resy) required.
• Interpersonal Mastery: Exceptional communication skills, elevated social awareness, and a naturally engaging, refined demeanor.
• Composure: Demonstrated ability to remain composed, graceful, and organized during peak operating hours.
• Leadership Style: Collaborative and approachable leadership that inspires confidence without relying on ego.
• Community Connection: Strong knowledge of the Scottsdale hospitality and dining scene is highly preferred.
