Job description

Temple Court, a Tom Colicchio Restaurant in the Beekman Hotel, is looking for a Maitre'D to join their growing team.

This position requires Sunday availability!

Responsibilities and Duties

• Serve as a leader of the host team by assigning duties, work stations, and responsibilities
• Greet guests and ensure a seamless flow through the restaurant to the dining tables
• Inspect work areas for cleanliness
• Print all menus, create floor plans, and prepare shift summary notes
• Communicate clearly and persuasively in various situations and respond well to questions
• Uphold service standards to ensure a memorable guest experience
• Maintain and promote our company's vision and values
• Show passion for details and a willingness to learn
• Participate in pre-service and applicable closing duties
• Familiarize with daily menus
• Engage in service and culinary education sessions
• Keep a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience as a Lead Host or Maitre D in a fine dining setting
• Strong knowledge and interest in food and beverage
• Knowledge of POS and reservation systems
• Sincere interest in the hospitality industry
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team and accept feedback
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods
• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, climb stairs, walk, and carry multiple objects
