Job description

Join to apply for the Maintenance Worker (Parks) role at City of Corinth.

Starting pay per hour for Maintenance Worker is $18.40 to $22.08 depending on experience.

Additional $1.25 for ability to demonstrate the operation of light equipment, MUTCD knowledge, and 2 years of experience in the field.

Additional $1.25 for CDL.

Up to an additional $0.50 for TDA.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform semiskilled general labor and manual tasks to maintain parks, facilities, grounds, playgrounds, sports fields, and City buildings; duties vary by assignment.
2. Inspect parks grounds and facilities for damage, hazards, and vandalism; perform basic maintenance and repairs.
3. Maintain right-of-way, sports fields, landscaping, and clean parks and facilities; operate basic equipment and perform manual labor tasks.
4. Perform semi-skilled building maintenance duties as directed.
5. Inspect and maintain equipment and tools; report mechanical issues.
6. Respond to emergency cleaning and maintenance needs.
7. Enforce City rules and report unsafe acts or conditions.
8. Operate trucks and equipment safely; assist in setup and teardown for City events.
9. Cross-train in maintenance tasks; assist with training.
10. Respond outside of scheduled hours for emergencies or special events.
11. Follow safety regulations and maintain professionalism and public trust.
12. Work cooperatively with colleagues.
13. Maintain regular attendance.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; one year of landscaping and maintenance experience.

Licenses or Certifications: Valid Texas Driver’s License.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of city policies, tools, safety precautions, and customer service protocols.
• Skill in operating tools, performing manual labor, following instructions, and communicating effectively.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

Work performed indoors and outdoors; moderate physical effort; ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
