Description

The purpose of this position is to ensure City parks and public areas are maintained and provide a clean and safe environment. Responsibilities include completing maintenance and repairs to City grounds, operating equipment, maintaining park and playground equipment, performing landscaping duties, cleaning and maintaining restrooms, setting up and breaking down equipment for events, removing graffiti, operating City vehicles, and responding to emergency maintenance requests.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds, medians, rights-of-way, and property through mowing, trimming, edging, fertilizing, herbicide and insecticide application, debris removal, irrigation system maintenance, and planting.
• Ensure athletic fields are ready by leveling, painting, striping, prepping, repairing, and inspecting equipment.
• Maintain playground and picnic areas by litter removal, trash emptying, and inspecting, repairing, or replacing equipment.
• Maintain vehicles by checking fluids, stocking supplies, logging mileage, and reporting repairs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Knowledge of construction and maintenance methods for parks, roadways, and landscapes
