Job summary

Greystar seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to uphold the physical condition of our residential properties in Chicago. You will diagnose and repair building systems, perform routine preventative maintenance, and respond to resident service requests to keep standards high.

You will also manage the make-ready process for vacant apartments, coordinate with vendors, and document work completed. The role requires safety awareness and ability to work evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience performing maintenance on multi-family buildings and common areas.
• Ability to diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or structural issues.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and code compliance.
• Strong documentation and resident service communication.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair building defects to meet policy and safety standards.
• Complete the make-ready process for vacant apartments, including pre-move-in checks and scheduling vendors.
• Track inventory, manage materials, and notify supervisors for re-ordering.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly for records and tracking.
• Inspect contractor work for quality, scope, and compliance.
• Assist in routine property inspections and preventive maintenance tasks.
