Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Des Moines, IA to ensure reliable operation of production equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, and program PLCs and HMIs to improve efficiency and reliability.

The role requires strong safety focus, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and flexibility to support a 24/7 operation with 12-hour shifts as needed. A background in extrusion is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years manufacturing experience, preferably extrusion.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
• Proficient in PLC, relay logic, and drive systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Program, modify, and maintain PLCs and HMIs.
• Calibrate instrumentation for accurate operation.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain safety standards.
