Job summary

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois is seeking a maintenance professional to perform routine upkeep and repairs across facilities in Illinois. You will maintain buildings and grounds, support turnover preparations, and assist with preventive maintenance programs to ensure safety and compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic electrical/plumbing knowledge, and strong communication skills. Travel to Rolling Meadows may be required; mileage reimbursement is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Trade or technical school training is preferred.
• Good communication and organization skills required.
• Experience with safety compliance and basic electrical/plumbing is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, janitorial duties, and repairs of buildings and grounds.
• Report needs for major repairs to ensure safety and compliance.
• Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs.
• Assist in resident apartment or room turnover preparations.
• Respond to emergencies during on-call shifts as scheduled.
