CommonPlace is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Charlotte, NC to prepare homes for new residents, handle service requests, and keep the property in top condition. You will work with the maintenance team and vendors to ensure quality and timely results.

The role requires HVAC, plumbing, and electrical knowledge, along with experience in apartment upkeep. You must be comfortable using tools and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. On-call weekends and travel between properties may be needed.

Qualifications

• Apartment maintenance or handyman experience required.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare apartment homes for new residents with high-quality make-readies.
• Respond to service requests promptly and professionally.
• Partner with the property and maintenance team to keep the community running smoothly.
• Maintain the appearance and function of apartments, amenities, grounds, and buildings.
• Oversee vendor work to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Track inventory and order parts as needed.
• Stay compliant with OSHA standards and follow safety policies.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance.
• Assist with the bid process and training of maintenance team members.
• Handle lock changes and on-site needs, including snow/ice removal.
• Be available for on-call rotation and after-hours emergencies.
• Report issues to the Property Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.
