Wesley Living is seeking a compassionate Maintenance Technician to join our Memphis communities. The role involves general maintenance, unit turns, and preventative care to keep residents safe and comfortable.

You will handle electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks, support compliance with HUD standards, and respond to emergencies as needed while maintaining respectful relationships with residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience required.
• HVAC certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance: plumbing, electrical, HVAC troubleshooting, carpentry repairs.
• Unit turns: prep vacant apartments including painting and basic repairs.
• Preventative maintenance: inspections of common areas and mechanical rooms.
• Regulatory compliance: adhere to HUD and local housing authority standards and fire codes.
• Emergency response: available for after-hours issues.
• Resident relations: service residents with patience and respect in their homes.

Maintenance Technician - Memphis, TN

Full-time | $18.00 - $20.00/hour I 40 hours per week

We are looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented, and dependable individual who can use their interpersonal and customer service skills to serve the elderly by performing general maintenance work at our Wesley Graceland Gardens (Memphis, TN) and St. Mark Manor (Moscow, TN) communities including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work. In our low-income senior living community, your job is about more than just fixing leaks and making repairs; it's about making sure our residents can live with dignity in a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained home. You will ensure development and execution of a preventative maintenance plan in conjunction with your property manager in accordance with current Policies and Procedures. Problem solving, time management, leadership, teamwork, and budgeting skills are necessary. Familiarity with computers and electronics are desired.

Key Responsibilities

• General Maintenance: Perform routine repairs including plumbing (leaky faucets, toilet clogs), electrical (bulb replacement, outlet repair), HVAC troubleshooting, and basic carpentry.
• Unit Turns: Efficiently prep vacant apartments for new residents, including painting, flooring repairs, and deep cleaning.
• Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of common areas and mechanical rooms to catch issues.
• Regulatory Compliance: Maintain the property to meet local housing authority and HUD standards. Ensure all fire codes and safety regulations are strictly followed.
• Emergency Response: Availability for after-hours emergencies.
• Resident Relations: Interact with senior residents with patience and respect, often entering their homes to perform repairs while ensuring their comfort and privacy.
