Job Description

CompX Grayslake is a leading manufacturer of highly engineered mechanical and electromechanical locking devices, systems for world-class original equipment manufacturers, and the manufacture of precision instruments, throttles, marine products, and accessories.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Reading mechanical, pneumatic/hydraulic, and electrical prints.
2. Using micrometers and calipers for accurate measurements.
3. Understanding fundamentals of AC and DC electrical circuits.
4. Building electrical panels.
5. Identifying manufacturer and model numbers of components and obtaining necessary documentation.
6. Understanding pneumatic systems in automated equipment, including how solenoid valves control cylinders and how PLCs control these valves.
7. Working with automated assembly equipment, including PLCs, servo motion, vision systems, and pneumatic, electric, and hydraulic actuators.
8. Knowledge of building electrical systems, including single and three-phase power.
9. Using and working on lifts and platforms.
10. Mechanical skills, including working with hand and power tools.

Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements:

• High School Diploma, some college, or certification.
• Ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk for 8 hours.
• Manual dexterity to grasp, pinch, pull, feel, handle, and manipulate parts and tools.
