Job summary

Imperial Garden Apartments in Smyrna, TN is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep the community safe, clean, and welcoming. You will perform work orders, assist with turns, and support day-to-day maintenance.

This role shares on-call rotation, uses HVAC, painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and custodial skills, and requires a valid driver's license. We value reliability and the ability to train others.

Qualifications

• Previous apartment maintenance experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Ability to train, coach, and guide other maintenance personnel.
• Shared on-call with other maintenance staff is required.
• Capable of meeting all physical role requirements including navigating multi-level environments via stairs.
• HVAC certification or related certifications (such as EPA) are a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day maintenance by completing work orders and assisting with apartment turns.
• Maintain curb appeal and keep the community safe and welcoming.
• Assist with special projects as needed and support the maintenance team.
• Share in an on-call rotation with the maintenance staff and utilize HVAC, painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and custodial skills.

Your Role on the Team

Imperial Garden Apartments is a 300 unit affordable multi-family property in Smyrna, TN. As a Maintenance Technician, you'll work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor or Community Manager to help keep the apartment community safe, clean, and welcoming. You'll support day-to-day maintenance by completing work orders, assisting with apartment turns, maintaining curb appeal, and helping with special projects as needed. You'll share in an on-call rotation with the maintenance team and use a variety of skills—including HVAC, painting, plumbing, appliance repair, electrical, carpentry, and custodial work-while making a positive impact on the community and residents you serve.

Who is our Ideal Candidate?
