Job summary

Johnson Matthey in Juneau, Alaska, is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to prevent downtime and maintain production equipment across multiple technologies. You will review work orders, source parts, and coordinate with production and engineering to prioritize daily tasks.

  • Strong knowledge of troubleshooting electrical problems.
  • Ability to read manuals and interpret codes to diagnose issues.
  • Experience interpreting electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize daily work with production and engineering.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain equipment from basic electro‑mechanical and hydraulic to CNC machinery.
  • Communicate repair steps, parts ordered, and estimated completion times to stakeholders.
  • Document actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.
  • Maintain safe, clean working environment and comply with procedures and regulations.
  • Use CMMS to track repair history and maintenance records.
  • Coordinate with outside service vendors as needed.

Maintenance Technician III

Pay Range: $30.00 - $33.00

As a Maintenance Technician III, you will prevent downtime and maintain production equipment across a range of technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Creates or receives work orders, identifies faulty equipment, and acquires parts and equipment to complete repairs.
  • Works with production and engineering to prioritize daily work.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, installs and maintains production equipment from basic electro‑mechanical and hydraulic equipment to complex CNC machinery.
  • Communicates accurately and professionally to stakeholders regarding repair steps, parts ordered, and estimated completion times.
  • Documents and communicates actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Responds effectively to service requests and controls downtime by informing production of routine preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Performs repair functions such as replacing servos, encoders, control components and other precision equipment components.
  • Coordinates with outside service vendors and assists outside service staff to ensure safe, effective work.
  • Works efficiently with emphasis on organization of tools, equipment and supplies to accomplish job results.
  • Uses maintenance management software for tracking repair history, preventive maintenance records, spare parts inventories and downtime.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a minimum of four years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of troubleshooting electrical problems.
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, codes and solve machine problems.
  • Experience interpreting electrical schematics to trace electrical issues.
