CAI Cox Automotive Corp Svcs., LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician II (Union) to work onsite at a Cox location in Michigan. The role involves complex repairs on equipment and facilities, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and routine inspections for EHS hazards.

You will keep the shop clean, manage inventory, and support small to medium projects while following safe operating procedures and contributing to Safety Excellence.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED with 3 years’ related experience, OR a higher level degree or certification, OR 5 years’ experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with staff, management, and customers.
  • Capacity to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Regular standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, squatting, and climbing required.
  • Medium strength with ability to lift 1‑50 pounds.
  • Vision requirements: close, distance and color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Familiarity with electrical work.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain shop cleanliness, including sweeping, shoveling snow, picking up trash, and operating cleaning machinery.
  • Perform complex repairs and diagnostics on equipment and facilities.
  • Routinely inspect work area for EHS hazards and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Execute small to medium projects and preventive maintenance tasks throughout the shop.
  • Maintain supply inventory and keep the supply closet stocked.
  • Maintain the exterior of the facility and outside grounds through various cleanup duties.
  • Follow safe operating procedures when using cleaning solutions, machinery, and other equipment.
  • Model and support Safety Excellence activities, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties assigned by manager or supervisor, such as delivering supplies.
  • Work overtime as business needs dictate.

Job Overview

Maintenance Technician II (Union) – Management Level Individual Contributor. No remote option; must work at a specified Cox location. Responsibilities include keeping the shop clean, performing complex repairs on equipment, diagnosing issues, routine inspections for EHS hazards, small to medium projects, preventive maintenance, and inventory management.

Responsibilities

Work Environment

Constant exposure to outdoor weather conditions, moving mechanical parts hazards, toxic or caustic chemicals, and moderate noise level.
