Job summary

UniFirst seeks a Maintenance Technician II to join our Louisville facility. You will troubleshoot equipment, read blueprints, and perform preventive maintenance on boilers and processing systems. The role includes overtime with a standard Monday–Friday schedule and on‑the‑job training.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, a two‑year technical degree preferred, and hands‑on experience with industrial equipment, PLCs, and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be at least 18.
• Experience in industrial equipment maintenance.
• Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment with precision instruments.
• Assist maintenance staff with repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and control systems.
• Follow blueprints and manuals.
• Test boiler and wastewater systems and adjust chemicals as needed.
• Perform safety checks on boilers and carry out repairs as required.
• Inspect motors, belts and bearings; replace filters.
• Perform basic welding for repairs.
• Lubricate and maintain shafts and gears.
